abel.
As a Nigerian, Abel is inspired by a lot different rhythms and syncopation. House music is home for him, but he does not shy away from exploring all genres, from disco, to afrobeat, to hip hop, and everything in between.
A Minneapolis/St Paul staple, Abel has been around the scene for about 15 years playing on big stages and small stages alike.

botanicus
I aim to give my listeners an experience of mindful enjoyment that raises the collective consciousness and fosters our reconnection to nature that has been eroded by modern lifestyles.
I present offerings of organic ecstatic dance music by blending live instrumentation, original productions, and eclectic curations with seamless mixing and improvisational sequencing to guide dancers through an arc of movements and emotions.

Brady Hill
Brady Hill has been telling stories with music since he was a child. Growing up he would dub songs from the radio and compile them into playlists on cassette tapes to give to his friends and family. His passion for compiling music eventually led to an understanding of mixing and mastering which ultimately became the start of a DJ career.
Throughout the years Brady has mainly performed as his primary moniker “Encounter” (or DJ Encounter) with a heavy focus on Techno music. In 2014 Brady found himself involved with the local Ecstatic Dance community where he was introduced to the 5 Rhythms modality for the first time. This new concept unlocked ideas allowing Brady to tell his stories in different ways, now using many different styles of music.
In early 2017 Brady found his way to Dance Church where he has been a community member and active artist ever since!

Bunny Mob
Jen Boyles and Ian Traas met as electronic music journalists and began DJing together shortly after they were married in 2013 -- it's a pretty cute story. They both have a long-held love affair of Chicago house music, having both come up in the midwest house scene, but each brings their own flavor to the [turn] table. Jen and Ian have DJed regularly at Dance Church (their favorite place to play) as well as First Avenue, and local rave/club events. The duo were tapped by EDC's Insomniac several years ago to create a mixtape of their unique house-meets-hip--hop sound, but these days DJ most for their 4 year old son at home. He affectionately calls it "crazy music" and his parents think that sounds about right. Mob squad mount up!

Butaca
This journey is not a straight line. It's a wave. Butaca (aka Paul Frett) is the founder and curator of Dance Church Minneapolis. Inspired by ecstatic dance and movement practices, he sees music as a journey of emotions; of stillness and chaos; of love and loss. A good set should tell a story, invoke a deep, heart felt response, and, of course, make you move your ass. Hopefully all of the music here does just that.

Dana Kazuko
When she discovered dancing, Dana’s life changed. The joy and release inherent in dancing struck something primal and beautiful inside and she has been a mainstay on dance floors ever since. Her love of dance naturally led her to be a voracious consumer of music and then to becoming a DJ. She will bring you music without labels so all can share their joy, energy, and enthusiasm for dance.

DRiPSweat
DRiPSweat was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She grew up as a student of performing and visual arts, naturally leading to an entrepreneurial path of being a full-time artist, musician, and DJ. Known for her original and technical mixing, paired with her one-of-a-kind stage presence, DRiPSweat’s uncanny, genre-fluid finesse keeps crowds groovin.

Part of what makes her a crowd-favourite is her empathic ability to read the room and play something for everyone, making her sets universally entertaining and pleasantly unpredictable. Some of her favourite genres are hip-hop, r&b, funk, house, disco, dance and world music. Her personal projects involve intentionally curating themed mixes surrounding empowerment, healing, humor, love, and discovery.

Malion
From the fertile underground of Minneapolis dance music, Malion (né Clinton Kunhardt) emerges to bring you on a journey through space, time, and mind. Focusing the hypnotic power of otherworldly soundscapes and soul-stirring rhythms into beams of pure body propulsion, he's sure to reconnect you with the rich currents of life hidden behind every fold of the void.
Spending his formative years branching out from the hedonic, energetic house party scene into full-scale rave operations such as SYSTEM and Intellephunk, Malion went on to temper his steely chops, co-founding the audio-visual collective Bound Space and starting his own event productions under the Eleusis moniker. With mixes released on midwest staples Format.FM and Flyover, an audio-visual EP released under the Bound Space imprint, and another EP on the way for early 2024, Malion has shown a tireless dedication to dancefloor innovation and musical exploration. Limber up, lock in, and let your mind, body, and soul come alive.

Sound Kata
Aaron Maurice Graves, better known as AMG, is one half of the Twin Cities, Bass Music-infused hip-hop duo Sound Kata.
When on the mic, AMG is recognized for his smooth unorthodox flow, soothing voice, & intricate wordplay, delving into numerous topics from a unique & refreshing style & perspective. Ranging from traditional Hip-Hop records, to Dubstep, to Drum & Bass, he's shown his style is as fluid as it is unique. AMG is also 1/4 of the Minneapolis-based hip-hop group PACT. Trading bars with his peers, who've kept his style sharp & ever-evolving, they've performed at some of the most iconic & legendary venues Minnesota has to offer.
While navigating the controller during a DJ set, he's often delivering a deep, dark & at times sultry ensemble of tunes setting an atmospheric tone of rich & sub-quaking harmonies. Deep Bass of the 140BPM variety is his staple. However, don't be surprised when Drum & Bass, Jungle, or UK Garage are integrated into his sets. Heavily accommodating those listeners that crave smooth, lush & sexy sound scapes to express themselves through music. When you hear him say "I like it here." - you know you're in for a treat.
